What should I do when a pipe bursts?

If you have or think you have a burst pipe in your home, your safety should be your first priority. Turn your water off at the main valve to stop any further damage from occurring in your home. Once you have turned off the water, we recommend you give Three Counties Plumbing team a call so we can come out and support you to get things back on track. Access the damage your burst pipe has done (without putting yourself in any danger) and remove any personal items that could get damaged. Give your home insurance company a call whilst you are waiting for your plumber.

Where would I find my water stopcock?

Knowing where your shut-off valve is very important for a homeowner. You will never know when you need to shut your water off in an emergency. You will normally find your stopcock inside your home and close to the main water pipe. This is generally under the sink but could also be located in the airing cupboard or under the stairs.

Is your plumbing team gas safe registered?

When you need work done on your home, it’s important to know that you have a team in place that you can trust. At Three Counties Plumbing and Heating, we are gas-safe registered plumbers so you can have peace of mind that your home is in safe hands. Our Aylesbury plumbers are also Viessmann and Worcester accredited installers.

Can you support landlords with gas safety checks?

Absolutely. We have several landlords who work with us on a long-term basis to ensure their property portfolio remains safe and efficient. As a landlord, you have a responsibility to keep your properties and your tenants safe. This includes an annual boiler service and gas safety checks, including checking all your gas appliances.

When should I have my boiler replaced?

If your boiler continues to function as normal, you may wonder why you are advised to get it replaced every 10-15 years. The main reason why your boiler should be replaced is that older models are no longer as efficient or eco-friendly as newer models. As your boiler gets older, it becomes a higher risk for malfunction. Your older boiler will also cost you more to run than a newer model.

Can your plumbing team install pipework in my new home?

If you are constructing a new home, we can imagine this is an incredibly exciting yet stressful time for you. You need to know you can rely on the contractors you have coming into your new space. Three Counties Plumbing and Heating provide a range of services to domestic and commercial customers. From changing a leaky pipe to completely new installations throughout your home, we are ready to support you with whatever plumbing services you need.

Does your plumbing team complete bathroom installations?

There is nothing quite like coming home to enjoy your new bathroom space. Your bathroom should be a place where you can relax and unwind after a long day’s work. At Three Counties Plumbing and Heating, we aim to provide you with a conception to completion bathroom installation. Give us a call today to discuss your bathroom installation project and see how we can help you get started.

Why does my water look discoloured?

There are many reasons why your water could be discoloured. Generally, we hear reports of water looking brown or orange in colour. This can be due to a build-up of iron deposits. Iron deposits can be disturbed if a water main has burst or maintenance work has been carried out near you. Check with your neighbours – If you are the only one having these problems, it could be an internal issue.

If you are noticing a different water colour, or your water appears murky or cloudy, take a look at your local Thames Water site for more information on why this could be happening.
